The 5-Green Star and A-grade rated AECOM House was acquired by our client as an unfinished leasehold commercial property project following the collapse (post-GFC) of the original developer. The client held the construction contract and made the decision to purchase and complete the project. At the time of our engagement, the client had secured international multi-disclinary professional services firm AECOM as anchor tenant — however approximately 58% of the building space remained vacant. During our 18 month involvement with the client, we were instrumental in concluding the successful leasing of over 5,500 sqm of remaining office space and assisted the client through the successful ‘off-market’ sale of the asset to a local Iwi.
